Ranil De Silva is a seasoned Finance and Operations Executive, Certified Public Accountant, and global leader with more than 25 years of experience across Australia, Africa, Europe, and North America. His career spans the Commercial, Professional Services, and NGO sectors, giving him a unique perspective on leading organizations through growth, transformation, and impact.
As Chief Financial & Operating Officer at CARE USA, Ranil oversees a $900M+ portfolio across 48 countries, guiding strategy, operations, and financial sustainability for one of the world’s largest humanitarian organizations. Previously, he held senior leadership roles at Save the Children International, including CFO for Save the Children Norway, where he managed multi-billion-dollar global operations across 30+ member organizations and 60+ country offices. He also served as Regional Finance and Support Services Director in Nairobi, Kenya, overseeing programs in 15+ countries across East and Southern Africa.
Earlier in his career, Ranil worked in Chartered Accounting and Investment Banking in Melbourne, Australia. His passion for humanitarian work, human rights, and poverty alleviation drives his commitment to stronger governance and leadership in the NGO sector. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director and Board Trustee across organizations in the UK, USA, and Australia.
